Job Description:

Teaching Assistants required at a forward-thinking SEN school near Horsham. Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Job Responsibility:

  • Support students with varying special educational needs, including those with challenging behaviour
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment
  • Provide personal care when necessary, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the classroom teacher
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere to encourage student engagement and participation
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver comprehensive care and education

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour
  • Willingness to provide personal care as needed
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and potential off-site activities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
