Job Description:

Teaching Assistant (TA) role in a college setting supporting students with special educational needs (SEN). The job involves assisting in educational activities, promoting independence, and providing care for students aged 19-25 with epilepsy, autism, and other complex needs.

Job Responsibility:

Assisting with educational activities and ensuring an inclusive learning environment
Providing personal care, where necessary, and supporting life skills development
Encouraging independence and supporting students in achieving their individual goals
Helping with therapeutic interventions and activities, both on and off-site
Building positive relationships with students, fostering trust and confidence
Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and health professionals.

Requirements:

A caring and proactive attitude with the ability to build strong relationships with students
Experience working with young people or adults with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential - training will be provided
Flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to engage in personal care duties when required.
