Job Description:

We are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This role requires a good understanding of phonics packages, particularly Read Write Inc, to support early reading development and literacy skills.

Job Responsibility:

Support the delivery of Read Write Inc and other phonics-based programs
Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging and structured learning environment
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who need additional help with reading and writing
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
Encourage a love for learning and reading in young children
Support classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning atmosphere

Requirements:

Experience working in a primary school setting (preferred)
Knowledge of Read Write Inc and phonics-based teaching methods
A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
