Job Responsibility:
Provide teaching and support to pupils with Autism, following individualised curriculums
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons and activities, focusing on life skills
Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practical situations
Provide behaviour based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
Assist with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
Monitor pupil progress and ensure teaching is appropriate and effective for their needs
Assist with break time duties, including playground support and snack time
Requirements:
Minimum Grade C/4 or equivalent in English Language & Maths
Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children with disabilities
Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
Ability to provide support with personal/intimate care when required
Capacity to remain calm in high-pressure situations
Own means of transport desirable, due to location
