Job Description:

This role has been designed as “Onsite” with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE partner/customer office. Provide technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet customers’ business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers’ businesses.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design
  • Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions
  • Understands a broad spectrum of company technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements
  • Often leads small to medium technical projects
  • Works with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer nominated representatives
  • Liaises with Solutions Architect as appropriate
  • Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment
  • Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments
  • Provides technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement
  • Provides planning and design support for the development of solution architectures that will be implemented in a multiple system environment
  • Communicates across client community, and is viewed as adding value
  • Demonstrates execution of the company strategy
  • Contributes to knowledge tools and communities, and ensures project learnings are documented and shared
  • Role models Knowledge sharing and re-use within practice or profession
  • Proactively encourages membership and contributions of others to professional community
  • Uses professions to meet the relevant certification and professional standards
  • Produces internally published material such as knowledge briefs, service delivery kit components or modules
  • Participates in the selling process in C&I and works with sales/principals on pre-sales activities

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen, hold an active TS/SCI Security Clearance and an adjudicated CI polygraph. Adjudication has to have occurred within a 4 year period of arriving at site
  • Candidate is required to take Medical and Psychological exams per the Government requirements as applicable
  • Candidates must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair the hardware from leading manufacturers like HPE/HPI, SGI, Brocade, OSS, SpectraLogic, etc. They should also be familiar with the general operations and maintenance these products with respect to their interactions within computer networks
  • Knowledge of legacy hardware such as Dec Alpha and associated storage would be a plus
  • Candidates must also be familiar with the operation of modern open-source operating systems like Linux as well as legacy systems like OpenVMS, HP-UX, etc
  • Successful candidates must possess at a minimum an associate degree in computer technology or have the equivalent work experience
  • They must have strong interpersonal skills
  • they must be able to work well in teams, but at times work independently with the minimum of direction
  • The following industry-standard certifications would be a plus, we ask that you have a minimum of one of the below certifications, or must be completed within a year of hire: CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CASP
  • CISCO CCNA
  • CISCO Security
  • ITIL V3.0
  • 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study
  • without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total)
  • Requires breakfix, system ticketing experience
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to the UK or currently located there
