Job Description:

HPE’s High Performance Computing organization is seeking a VP, HPC and AI Engineering to drive our market leading systems into the future. You will oversee the strategic development, implementation, and management of an organization's HPC infrastructure, leading teams to optimize computational power for complex scientific, engineering, and data-intensive applications. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to align HPC capabilities with organizational goals and future technology advancements.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and execute a long-term HPC strategy aligned with organizational objectives, including technology roadmap, capacity planning, and budget allocation
Identify emerging HPC trends and technologies to evaluate potential adoption and integration
Collaborate with leadership across departments to understand and address HPC needs for research, development, and operations
Oversee the design, procurement, and deployment of high-performance computing clusters, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure
Manage complex HPC environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability
Monitor and optimize system performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions
Lead a team of HPC specialists, engineers, and system administrators, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities
Foster a collaborative culture within the HPC team, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices
Recruit and retain top talent with expertise in HPC technologies and methodologies
Work closely with researchers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their computational needs and provide tailored HPC solutions
Develop user training programs and documentation to maximize efficiency and adoption of HPC resources
Facilitate collaboration across teams leveraging HPC capabilities for complex projects
Manage the HPC budget, including hardware and software acquisitions, maintenance contracts, and operational costs
Negotiate contracts with vendors for HPC hardware, software, and support services.

Requirements:

Deep understanding of high-performance computing architectures, including cluster computing, parallel processing, and distributed systems
Expertise in HPC software, such as scheduling tools, job management systems, and performance analysis tools
Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams, fostering collaboration and innovation
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in project management, including budget planning and resource allocation
Familiarity with emerging technologies like cloud computing, AI, and machine learning as they relate to HPC.
