Robert Half is looking for a VP of Accounting to take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department at a successful company. The role involves managing daily cash, guiding finance department operations, completing month-end and year-end close tasks, working closely with the executive team, and ensuring client satisfaction. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers exceptional compensation, benefits, and potential for career growth.
Job Responsibility:
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Requirements:
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
CPA/MBA preferred
10+ years of progressive Real Estate accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Solid understanding of month end closings
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
