Job Description:

This role involves leading a skilled team of software engineers, architects, and technical leads in the tech industry. You will be in charge of developing and implementing an engineering strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and vision, while also maintaining the technology roadmap.

Job Responsibility:

Lead a high-performing team of software engineers, architects, and technical leads
Define and implement an engineering strategy that aligns with the company's broader goals and vision
Develop a technology roadmap that ensures engineering efforts are scalable and maintainable
Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as Product, UX/UI, and Operations, to drive product development and innovation
Oversee the architecture and design of large-scale, distributed systems built on Java and AWS cloud infrastructure
Promote best practices in software development, ensuring adherence to Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Drive innovation in software engineering, exploring new technologies, tools, and techniques
Ensure high-quality code delivery through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and performance optimization
Lead the migration, optimization, and scaling of applications within AWS environments
Advocate for a DevOps culture, emphasizing automation, continuous deployment, and infrastructure-as-code practices
Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols to maintain high system performance in production environments
Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Provide leadership in career development, skill-building, and performance management for the engineering team
Deliver engineering projects on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards
Balance technical debt management with the need for innovation, ensuring sustainable software development practices
Drive continuous improvement in development processes, operational workflows, and engineering tools

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Director role or similar senior position within the tech industry
Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with Java
Proficiency in Spring Boot is essential
Must have significant experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Demonstrated expertise in Vue.js is required
Excellent leadership and team management abilities
Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to think strategically and to lead
Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc
In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
MSc/MA in business administration or relevant field is preferred
