Job Description:

We are seeking a full-time Year 1 Teacher to join a primary school in Wakefield, starting April and continuing until December. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on children's learning and development in a nurturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive
Support pupils' early literacy, numeracy, and social skills development
Use phonics-based approaches to support reading and writing progress
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and parents to support individual needs
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
Implement effective classroom behaviour management strategies

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Year 1 or KS1 (preferred)
Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A creative, patient, and nurturing approach to teaching
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
