Job Description:

The service is a well-established and highly regarded organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people in Angus and the surrounding areas. Their mission is to empower young individuals, aged 11-25, who have faced challenging life circumstances by providing a nurturing and caring environment that fosters personal growth and positive life choices.

Job Responsibility:

Building positive and trusting relationships with young people, creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for them to express themselves
Offering emotional support and counselling to help young people navigate challenges and overcome personal obstacles
Assisting in the development and implementation of individual care plans, tailored to meet each young person's unique needs and goals
Encouraging educational attainment and providing educational support where necessary
Facilitating workshops, group activities, and life skills sessions to promote personal development, social skills, and decision-making abilities
Collaborating with other team members and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to the young person's care
Monitoring and evaluating progress, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on the young person's development

Requirements:

Have previous experience working in a care setting with young people
Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
Have knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
Have experience advocating on behalf of a young person
Register under the PVG scheme
Full driving licence
Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
